Our next trip was an extended two week stay in Northern Illinois and Wisconsin to visit with my side of the family and oh what adventures we had!! Spent some time in the Burbs, Chicago, Lincoln Park and Lincoln Park zoo, Madison Wisconsin, Evanston, Alden... we packed a lot into one visit, but boy was it worth it!
This first sequence of pictures was from our first couple days in the Windy City. Genius me, packed for Savannah weather and had to buy him a few fall outfits before doing anything as it was about 50* and lower when we were there. Quite a shock from the 100+* and 99% humidity we were coming from!

From Chicago, Quint and I took the train network (with much help from Cousin Hannah...) to Evanston to spend some time with Aunt Mary, Uncle Steve and Cousin Eli. Cousin Daniel was with us in spirit, as he was physically off starting a new journey at Oberlin College studying how to make even better documentaries! We discovered the Evanston Fire Station, which Quint found fascinating. We also loved all of the old Goering Boy books on planes and Kaya!

After Evanston, we went back to Gamma's house and then on to Auntie Sue's! We got some great book suggestions from our resident Aunt Librarian and became even more inspired and invigorated at a home-school prospect! The following are photos from a little Trolley Railroad that is on their property. I forgot to take photos with people (other than Quint) actually in the photos, but this sequence is from the RR tracks at Aunt Sue's house :).
