This sequence was taken from a little morning hike we did with the Oxford Mom and Tots group :). Ms. Katie Boyle was our fearless (environmentally aware) guide! The hike was through William Faulkner's property, which he named Rowan Oak after the Roman mythological legend of this oak.

Whose woods these are |
I think I know. |
The woods are lovely, |
dark and deep |
But I have promises to keep |
And miles to go |
Before I sleep! |

(I took excerpts from Robert Frost's poem for the captions above :)) |

This Solitary Tree! a living thing |
Produced too slowly ever to decay; |
Of form and aspect too magnificent to be destroyed.
... well almost ;)
William Wordsworth |

Produced too slowly ever to decay;
Of form and aspect too magnificent
To be destroyed."

Beautiful pictures Jen. Those last few remind me of another one of my favorite poems... “Once there was a tree, and she loved a little boy...” Hope you remember as fondly :)
