Thanksgiving in Vail, what an happy time… and like no place on earth ;). Made complete with good friends, good times, family and… a greeting from their local newspaper! Talk about feeling pretty special :).
Our neighbor/extended family member, Roger Leonhart talked us into going to Vail with his family for Thanksgiving and boy are we glad we did! Not only did we have great digs, free lift tickets and VIP passes, we got to meet his incredible, generous and talented family and friends. They even had Thanksgiving Dinner waiting for us when we arrived! It really felt like we had been a part of the family from the get go. There was non stop laughter, stories, schemes and food to fill the day and then some… and we had barely just gotten there!
Ross, his brother, writes for the Vail Daily and actually put our picture in the newspaper to welcome us, on Thanksgiving! He was the one that also got us the VIP passes and free lift tickets. Dunno if we can ever do Vail again on our own… we've been too spoiled!
I really wish I had taken more photos, but I was about 12 weeks pregnant at this point and feeling completely miserable… I just wasn't on my game, but the trip was amazing to say the least!

Ski DAY! Roger, Ross, Will and I on the lift |
It was amazing, Theresa Leonhart watched Q all day while Will and I had a ski day with Roger and Ross… I only lasted the morning, but it was still incredible :). She is a Montessori School Directress and pretty much a new hero of mine :)… I couldn't stop picking her brain about Montessori and instantly got Montessori "how to" books the day after we got back to WA!

My first ski run down a Mountain!! Success… sort of HAHA! My fearless and amazing teacher :) |
Not to get too sappy, but I think I discovered my "Love Language" in Vail. I was so touched by Will's incredible patience in teaching me to ski and staying with me the entire way down, I decided my Love Language is true "Quality Time" with maybe a little bit of "Acts of Service" thrown in there. It isn't easy staying with a beginner skier, no, NEWBIE, when all you want to do is ski down black hills with your buddies, but Will stayed with me the whole time, encouraged me and taught me the ropes. I was literally moved to tears a couple times (especially when I thought I couldn't make it), but I made sure to hide it ;)… I know he loves me (and vice versa) but I felt it deeply on those slopes and will never ever forget that feeling. Praise the Lord for the meaningful things that come unexpectedly :).

Wouldn't be complete without Hot Chocolate! |
We went to a really awesome Tree Lighting at Wolf Creek, but sadly, I don't have any pictures for some reason :(.
